GENERAL
What is His Palette?
His Palette features both a blog with an online community and local (Las Vegas) creative instruction through our day classes and workshops. Out of love and a desire to find new ways to glorify God, to share His Word, and to nurture our relationship with Him, His Palette was born.
How did the name, His Palette, come about?
All the beauty in the world comes from the Lord and it is HIS PALETTE of colors we want to embrace and use to deepen our own personal relationships with Him.
Who is the woman behind His Palette?
Kimberly’s entire life she’s always felt like she was running from something. First, she ran away from home at a young age. She ran away from good influences. She ran away from heartbreak and eventually grief. Her philosophy was to run away from anything that didn’t contribute to her own “happiness.” And once she accepted Jesus, she ran from the things she deemed “bad.”
Right after attending her very first Bible journaling class, she could hear God’s voice, clear and concise. He said stop! And though she hemmed and hawed about it, she stopped. The Lord then showed her, for the first time in her life, that she had something to run TO.
[To learn more about Kimberly, you can read this introduction, in it’s entirety, HERE.]

CREATIVE
What is creative worship?
Creative worship is simply using creativity in combination with your faith, to praise, pray, learn and more. We are of the belief that there is no clear definition and anything we do creatively to draw near to God can fit into the “category” of creative worship.
What is Bible journaling?
We believe Bible journaling is an incredibly unique and creative way to learn about the Word and to spend time with God. There is absolutely no way to do this wrong. Each person’s journey will be different and no two people will create the exact same way.
Bible journaling, in our opinion, is a very personal way to be in the presence of our glorious God, to engage with the Word, to praise and glorify Him, to speak to and be in relationship with our heavenly Father, to record our prayers, bible study and sermon notes, and to write down the things we hear the Lord speaking to us.
Do I need to work directly in my Bible?
Absolutely not! None of this requires you to work directly in your bible. If you aren’t comfortable journaling in your bible, there are a variety of other ways to do this outside of your Bible.
Inside Your Bible
Note: This list is not all inclusive.
- just in the margins, nothing on the text
- in the margins and only transparent mediums on the text
- all over, covering page (generally those who choose this option have a study bible for reading and a separate bible specifically for their bible art)
- on inserts such as tipins/tipouts
- only in a coloring bible with sporadic pre-drawn art
- use a wide margin bible
- use an interleaved bible
Outside of the Bible
Again, this list does not include all the possible ways you can work outside of your bible.
- wall art (ex. on canvas)
- sculptures (ex. clay, stone, metal, etc)
- altered books
- scrapbooks (with photography)
- art journals
- collages and assemblages
- “bible” journals
- Types of Journals
- plain notebook
- bullet journal
- sketch pad/art journal
- war binder
- traveler’s journal
- Types of Journals
What do I need to get started?
All you need is something to write with and something to write on, basically a pen and piece of paper.
How do I begin?
- choose a verse or verses that you understand, are familiar with, or can illustrate easily (this can be from a sermon you heard, a worship song, or whatever)
- choose colored pens, pencils or markers to write notes, rewrite a verse in the margin or write a personal prayer
Do you have posts and studies for someone just starting out?
We sure do! Check out this post and printable to get you going.

I’ve been Bible journaling for some time now. Are there more complex techniques for someone like me?
There are! Take a look at these posts on napkin decoupage and pressing flowers.

Can I create one of your pages in my own Bible?
YES! We pray you do! Whether you find inspiration in a His Palette Bible journaling page or you simply want to recreate it yourself, our goal is to help you get excited about the Word. All we ask is, if you post it for the public to see, please tag us in your post.
SHARING PRODUCTS AND FREEBIES
Can I share the freebies offered on this website with others?
His Palette is all about sharing the love. Since we offer many different “freebies” throughout the year, we ask that you share our website with others, instead of the actual printables and files themselves. This way your friends and family will have the opportunity to receive all we have to offer.
Can I share the digital downloads I purchase from this website with others?
When you purchase a digital download, you are agreeing that you will use said file for your own personal use. Please understand that each item we sell is carefully and thoughtfully created, priced, and listed. We ask that each person purchase there own digital download.
Can I draw the images from your dittos and sell them?
If you are interested in selling any of the artwork on the His Palette website, please contact us directly. You must get written permission to use any of our works. Duplicating another artist’s work and then selling it would fall under copyright infringement.

PRINTABLES
How do you create His Palette printables?
Our shop is filled with art from both Kimberly and others. The images we use when designing our kits are acquired one of three ways.
- It’s 100% Kimberly’s original artwork.
- We curate art from other artists. The artists we work with are compensated for their time and talent, and we always acquire any needed licenses for resale.
- We work closely together with other artists to collaborate on a specific project, using a mixture of original work and theirs.
Regardless of where the images are derived from, all printables are designed by His Palette. How does that work?
- We gather a collection of images (either original or licensed).
- We create and add wordfetti, titles, verses, tabs, banners, etc.
- We pull everything together to create said printable.
We would never want it to appear we’re taking credit for anything that is not ours. When someone reaches out to us, we think it’s important to let them know exactly what they are purchasing. We’ve decided to also include a document within our Facebook group that explains how images are acquired, so there is no confusion. Just like any other business, we are not the only people contributing to our line of printables.
COLLABORATIONS
Do you collaborate with other creatives?
We love to collaborate!
I have an idea for a collaborative project. What do I do next?
Please email us. We are always interested in partnering with other Christians on new and exciting projects.
